Please join us for the Hudson River Ramble and walk theWestchester Wilderness Walk, our premier preserve, onSunday, September 18 at 12 noon. Over 200 hikes are part of the Hudson River Ramble weekends. Westchester Land Trust has been participating in this event since its inception ten years ago. The trails at the Wilderness Walk wind through wetlands and woodlands with rare plants, dramatic rock formations, soaring tulip trees and dozens of bird species. Your guide from the Westchester Land Trust will describe the flora and fauna and the grassroots efforts that saved this beautiful area of over 250 acres from development. There are two choices of hikes: 1) An easy 1.5 mile hike; or 2) a moderately difficult 3.5 mile hike. Sturdy shoes are recommended. The Wilderness Walk is located on Upper Shad Road in Pound Ridge. (Take Rte. 172 to Long Ridge Road. Go south for 2 miles and turn left onto Upper Shad Road; entrance to trailhead is ¼ mile on left.)
