A Connecticut man was arrested in Bedford after allegedly driving excessive speeds while intoxicated.

New York State police said they stopped David Moss, 23, of Brookfield, CT, on I-684 Sunday at approximately 11:40 a.m. for driving over the speed limit. They also said their investigation revealed he was driving while intoxicated.

Police arrested Moss and brought him to the Somers barracks for processing, where he refused to take a chemical test. Moss was released pending a return to Bedford town court on Sept. 15.

South Salem man charged with unlawful marijuana possession

Bedford police arrested John Zoppo, a 21-year-old South Salem resident, on Aug. 29 and charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police said they pulled Zoppo over on Aug. 29 on Route 117 Bypass after he drove through the red light at Adams Street and Harris Road. After they approached Zoppo in his Chevy Trailblazer, police said they noticed an odor of marijuana in the car and a search revealed a small bag of the substance.

Zoppo was released pending an appearance in Bedford town court.
