Farmers, musicians, chefs and food vendors will gather to educate, entertain and feed attendees at the eighth annual Harvest Fest to take place this Saturday, Oct. 1, at Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture in Pocantico Hills. 

Admission to all Harvest Fest activities including hayrides and parking is included in the price of admission. Kids can munch on free snacks while waiting to go on a hayride.

Food will be available for purchase all day at the marketplace with about 20 farmers, bakers and other food vendors offering their wares. The grounds include a picnic area.

Tickets are selling fast for Harvest Fest and a spokesperson said it is likely the Fest will sell out before Saturday. Admission tickets and raffle chances (optionally available) can be ordered at the event’s ticket website (see below). 

Many activities are offered all day long such as hayrides leaving from the greenhouse area, fiddling by Henry Chapin & Friends, pig roasting by Jeremy Stanton (for Heritage roast pork sandwiches available at the market) and a farm olympics open to attendees having an egg-carrying competition, three-legged races and other challenges. 

Ongoing food and farming workshops will include chef Adam Kaye cooking one of his favorite chicken recipes.

Harvest Fest raffle prizes ($10 per ticket)

The proceeds from the raffle will be used to support educational programs for students and beginning farmers; the prizes range from free air flight tickets to a Thanksgiving Day turkey.

Tickets cost $35 (adults), $25 (ages 6-14), $15 (ages 2-5).

Food and beverage costs are additional to the entrance fee and can be paid for by cash only.
