Whoopi Goldberg Lists 745-Acre Vermont Farm for $2.3 Million

Source: IMDb

If you’re a high-profile, award-winning celebrity, Vermont is probably a good place to own a home. Best known for its maple syrup and rolling green hills, celebrity pocked neighborhoods are not common in many cities of the Green Mountain state.

However, it is a four-hour commute to New York and an even longer trip to Los Angeles, which may be the reason actress/producer/director/talk show host Whoopi Goldberg has put her 745-acre property up for sale on the Marlboro real estate market. Goldberg’s home is listed for $2.3 million.

According to LandsofVermont.com, the land was first developed in 1790 by the Winchester family with the construction of a two-bedroom home and dairy farm. In 1969, the property was transferred to the Davisson Family, who incorporated additional acreage into the farm and made many improvements to the house, grounds, farm buildings, farmland, and woodland. The family donated 640.7 acres to the Vermont Land Trust in 1997. The property today is mostly wooded and includes riding trails, several streams and ponds as well as 22 acres of sugar bush, which is used for maple syrup production.

In 2004, Goldberg purchased the Robinson Winchester farm and begin an extensive renovation of the property. The main house was stripped down and rebuilt, adding modern features while retaining historic features, such as the two-sided antique fireplace with a beehive oven, which is believed to be the original center of the home.

The home now stands at 6,100 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The grounds include a two-story bunk house with full kitchen and living room as well as a full equestrian center including heated horse barn with tack rooms.
