NY Mets’ David Wright Lists NY Penthouse for $7.85 Million | NYC Real Estate

Source: Gacksports.com

New York Mets’ David Wright moved out of his so-called New York City bachelor pad in March, downsizing to a two-bedroom place on the Upper East Side for $12,000 a month, leaving people to wonder when his three-bedroom penthouse would go up for sale.

Wright’s full-floor loft recently hit the New York City real estate market for $7.85 million. The 4,100-sq ft Flatiron District condo is located in the trendy and exclusive Infinity Flats building. The Mets’ third baseman paid $6.1 million for the place in 2006, and spent some time — and money — making it his “ultimate bachelor pad.”

In November 2009, the New York Post reported that Wright blocked traffic when a crane blocked all of  East 21st Street to lift a hot tub into his place.

The Jacuzzi is just the beginning. The listing describes Wright’s penthouse as a “dramatic and expansive living space,” going on to state:

The great room is defined by a salt-water aquarium and a gas fireplace with glass and stone.”

In terms of regular home amenities, the home has an over-sized master suite, a large media room featuring a wall with 5 flat-screen TVs, 4.5 bathrooms, as well as a separate office. Wright must have been something of a chef because the kitchen features gourmet-rate appliances, a large amount of storage, a marble island with built-in wine cooler and enough room for a full-size dining room.

One flight up, the roof deck includes the infamous hot tub, sound system, gas grill and breathtaking views of the city. At $7.65 million, this luxury pad is listed way above the median Flatiron District home values of $1,076,000.
