It is named after the road, Fox Lane, that begins just to the side of the school’s driveway. Fox Lane is considered to be one of Westchester County’s top public high schools, noted for its commitment to diversity and academic excellence. Students routinely matriculate to the most selective colleges and universities, regularly attending Ivy League institutions. The school has also earned a blue ribbon award.

There are two assistant principals, Brian Davidson and Robin Schamberg. Asst. Principal Davidson is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school while Asst. Principal Schamberg’s responsibilities include overseeing student activities, academic testing and grade reporting, and heading the Learning Resource Team. Both work together on school endeavors & projects.

In recent years the school has undergone several renovations; these include the school’s commons & theater in 1990, library in 1993, and cafeteria in 1999. The school has completed a multi-million dollar renovation that began in the summer of 2005. The entire construction project ended by the start of 2008-2009 school year. The entire campus also renovated the entrances, adding another one on the other side of Route 172, and revamping the older entrance with a traffic circle.

The Fox Lane Foxes do well in most sports, winning titles regularly. The teams include Football, Field Hockey, Soccer, Swimming, Cross Country, Winter Track, Spring Track, Dance, Cheerleading, Special Olympics, Basketball, Skiing, Wrestling, Track, Lacrosse, Softball, Baseball, Golf, Tennis and Procrastinating.
