Welcome to Zillow’s Rental of the Week. Our site is filled with information on homes for sale and apartments for rent, plus we have data on more than 100 million homes in the U.S., so lots of homes catch our eye.
This is not your usual downtown apartment painted in builder’s beige with neutral carpeting and tile. Whoever owns this Los Angeles apartment — and the listing says “celebrity” — loves color and lots of it.
This week’s rental: Funky “celebrity” loft
For rent: $2,295/month
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Details: 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1,450 square feet
Most landlords aren’t too keen on residents painting their apartments, much less tiling the bathroom in a skyline motif or hanging dragon pendant lights from the walls. This property manager must be a little more lenient or whoever owns this place, doesn’t mind some eclectic design.
Although the listing says the downtown Los Angeles rental is a “celebrity loft,” a little digging on our end didn’t turn up a famous owner. However, having a star property owner is not the real interest here. Rather, it’s the wide array of furnishings and decor that put this place over the top.
Let’s start with the bedroom, which as mentioned, includes a blue and green-tiled city scene and a steam room.
The living area boasts high ceilings, a black pebbled-stone fireplace and metal detailing across one wall. A dragon pendant light, silver-leafed ceiling and eclectic furniture rounds it out. Large windows provide views of the Los Angeles skyline.
Built in 1922, the building has been completely renovated and includes a pool, spa and gym, dog run and private courtyard as well as easy access to downtown shopping and restaurants.
