The JCC of Mid-Westchester, along with the UJA Federation of New York and several area JCCs, hosted a Day of Chesed (Kindess) on Sept. 11, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

“We could think of no better way to recognize the tragic events of 9/11 than by joining with community members and other organizations for a Day of Chesed, which means kindness in Hebrew, to benefit those in need,” said Michael Witkes, Interim Executive Director of the JCC of Mid-Westchester in a statement.

B’nai Brith Youth Organization, Hillels of Westchester, JCC on the Hudson, J-Teen, New Rochelle Jewish Coalition, Rosenthal JCC of Northern Westchester, Solomon-Schechter School of Westchester, The Jewish Renaissance Experience, Westchester Hebrew High School, Westchester Jewish Community Services and Westchester Jewish Council also co-sponsored the event.
