Bedford NY Real Estate | Bedford Police Update Sunday October 30th

Sunday – October 30, 2011 – Bedford Police again ask that residents stay off roads – power lines are down – trees and branches are making driving hazardous.
Bedford is experiencing widespread power outages and is continuing to staff the BEDFORD HILLS COMMUNITY HOUSE on the corner of Church Street and Main Street, in Bedford Hills. Please come over and get warm, have a cup of coffee, charge your phones and computers. We will continue to provide any information from NYSEG and Con Ed as soon as we receive it. All calls regarding power outages should be made directly to your power company, not the Police Department.
Thank you.

Update about the Effects of the Storm

North Castle’s Emergency Operations Center is working on coordinating efforts with Con Edison, our Highway Department and outside tree service companies. Work continues on Route 22 and other roads where there is substantial tree debris blocking roads and impacting utility wires.

A Con Edison representative is in North Castle coordinating restoration crews.

Contact Con Edison to report downed wires and check status of power outages: 800-752-6633.

Hergenhan Recreation Center is being staffed by NC4 volunteers today until 10:00pm and offers a hot shower, a snack and a place to charge your cell phone. Note there is no internet access at Hergenhan, but there is television and football games are on.

A word about 911: Please only dial 911 if you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency. If you have a personal emergency that is not life-threatening, call North Castle Police at 273-9500.

Check on your neighbors and family. Please be patient as we work to open roads and restore electric service as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

William R. Weaver, Supervisor
